SB 2850 Floor Seal is an extremely durable coating that can be safely used on any indoor floor surface not normally harmed by water. It produces a medium gloss, colorless film that resists scuffing and retains gloss under scrubbing. Even with this resistance and toughness, it can be unlocked and removed using a strongly alkaline stripper. SB 2850 is not designed to buff to a high gloss, however it is an excellent base sealer that can be top coated with a buffable maintenance product like SB 2851 Stone Seal for hard floors or SB 2840 / SB 2841 for resilient flooring.
Thoroughly scrub floor using a quality stripper like SB 2846 to remove the previous finish. Stripping must be followed by neutralizer like SB 2130 prior to application of SB 2850 Floor Seal. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before application of the SB 2850.
Dilution: Initial application not diluted.Maintenance applications of thin film between strippings can be diluted 2 parts water to 1 part SB 2850.
Coverage: Target coverage at 600 to 700 square feet per gallon– dependent upon substrate and other conditions.
Apply a light film of SB 2850 with a lamb’s wool or microfiber (wax) applicator. Target application rate should be at least 600 sq ft per gallon or thinner per coat to assure even application and drying. For first time application, 2 thin coats are recommended. Routine floor cleaning should be done with a neutral to only mildly alkaline cleaner. The even appearance of the floor appearance can be maintained between strippings by an application of a thin film of a solution of 1 part Floor Seal to 2 parts water.
This material is not designed for use outdoors or in areas or situations were the floor might be wet for extended periods of time. Keep material from freezing.
