2760 ShoreCoat™
Concrete Coating
ShoreCoat™ Concrete Coating is a premium, high performance decorative coating for architectural concrete and concrete based materials. It combines the benefits of both cemetitious based coatings and leading edge organic resin technology. Unlike some other cementitious paints, the ShoreCoat™ system is not just a Preparation
Surfaces must be clean, sound, and dust free prior to
application. While a dry surface
is recommended, successful application may be made to slightly damp but not
saturated surfaces. If substrate
is covered with dirt or oils clean with appropriate cleaner such as
ShoreBest Con-D-Soil. Otherwise
clean surfaces should be dusted or vacuumed to remove loose contaminants.
An on site application of 5 to 10 square feet of area is recommended
to check for color, general appearance acceptance, and determination of
suitable application procedure. Allow the test area to dry for 24 hours
prior to review. Standard Mix Ratio
The normal mix ratio is 50 pounds of 2760 powder, 1
gallon 2765 resin, and 0.5 gallon water.
Very slight variations in the amounts of 2765 and water can be made
to adjust properties but the slight increase in one must be accompanied by a
corresponding decrease in the other for a total of liquids not to exceed 1.5
gallons. Do not retemper. Coverage
Coverage may vary from 25 to about 100 square feet per
gallon depending on application method, substrate surface texture, and
desired appearance. Spray or
brush application to produce a
thin, surface conforming coating will give a higher coverage rate than
when a trowel is used to apply a thicker coat designed to hide
surface irregularities. Application
The ShoreCoat system is chemically hardening with a useful pot life of about
20 minutes. Only enough product
that can be applied in about 15 minutes should be made at a time.
Mechanical mixing with a “basket” type mixing blade used to avoid
excessive entrainment of air. These
are the mixers often used to mix grouts and mortar mixes. The 2760 / 2765
mixture can be applied by airless spray, roller or brush using the
crosshatch method or by trowel . If the first coat is applied vertically the
second coat must be applied horizontally to provide for an even finished
appearance. Depending on application method and desired results two coats
may required for any project. If multiple coats are applied, they should be
done on a wet-on-wet basis where coats are not allowed to completely dry
between applications. Clean all
equipment with soap and water periodically during application to avoid
product curing in the equipment during application of several batches.
When product begins to thicken with time, “thinning” with water
does not return it to its original properties.Limitations
Do not apply to a wet surface or when rain is expected with 12 hours.
Minimum application temperature is 50 degrees F surface & ambient and
rising. Do not apply to surfaces that are above 95 degrees F. Repackage
opened, unmixed powder into water tight container to avoid damage by
atmospheric humidity. Technical Data
