2380 Copper Stain Remover
Copper Stain Remover is a thickened blend of organic and inorganic chemicals with a strong ammonia odor. It is designed to dissolve and lift the green stains that result from copper, bronze and brass corrosion. These stains are usually found on exterior concrete, unpolished marble and limestone surfaces. 2381 Copper Stain Remover II is similar to 2380 and is used as a pretreatment cleaner and additive for 2382 CSR Poultice. ![]() before after
Technical Data
Preparation
Provide protection for foliage and pedestrian traffic. Test all surfaces, which may be exposed to product for possible adverse reactions. Protect all surfaces and surrounding areas from possible damage which might occur from spillage or spray during usage. All projects should start with a test application to determine the suitability of the cleaner, acceptable application method and dwell time. Test applications should be done in the area of the worst staining. When possible, the test area should be left to age for 10 or more days to check for possible latent reactions with the substrate.Application
Copper Stain Remover is a thickened material that is usually applied by brushing. The use of brushes helps to work the material into the pores of the masonry for more effective results. A dwell time of 5 to 15 minutes is most effective. Leaving the cleaner on the surface for more than 15 minutes may lead to difficulty in removal from the surface. In some cases, additional brushing of the applied cleaner, after the first 5 minutes, may prove to be helpful. When the applied cleaner has turned to a bright blue color, it is time for removal with a pressure washer or scrub brush and hose. After rinsing the surface, reapply the cleaner to a test area. If the cleaner turns blue, there is additional copper stain available for removal. Repeat the application procedure until there is no color change in the applied cleaner. After the first application, spot cleaning of deep-seated stains may be all that is required to complete the project. In all cases, the cleaner should be applied to all surfaces until there is no color reaction in any area. Failure to follow this procedure may result in an unsatisfactory application of a water repellent, if one is required for the project, or subsurface stains may leach to the surface at a later time. Limitations
Copper Stain Remover is for use by professional contractors only. Application at temperatures below 40 degrees F, surface and ambient temperature, will not produce satisfactory results. Store all unused cleaner in a tightly sealed and labeled factory container.Safety
All applicators must wear appropriate protective equipment. 2380 Copper Stain Remover is a strong alkaline material. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Diluted and undiluted cleaner can cause severe burns. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not ingest or inhale the cleaner, modify the cleaner with any additives or use the cleaner for any non-recommended purposes. Refer to the proper MSDS Sheet for treatment of persons exposed to or reacting to the cleaner.
