2310 Vanadium Stain Remover
2310 Vanadium Stain Remover is a blend of acid products, surfactants and other additives specifically formulated for the removal of green and yellow green vanadium stains from clay brick masonry surfaces. These stains are frequently found in white, buff and some other light colored brick after being exposed to water evaporation from a saturated masonry wall or from improper cleaning with masonry cleaning acids. 2310 may also remove straw stains, non-hydrofluoric acid burns and other metallic stains from many masonry surfaces. Preparation
Provide protection for glass, metal, painted surfaces, foliage, pedestrian and vehicle traffic and all non-masonry surfaces. Shut off all ventilation intakes, close all other entrances to the structure and provide temporary caulking if required. Provide protection to ensure that no fumes or liquids enter the structure during application and removal of the cleaner. Protect all surrounding areas from possible damage, which might occur from spillage or spray during usage.
All projects should start with a series of test application to determine the suitability of the cleaner for the subject surface, to determine the proper dwell time and to check for possible dilution. Test areas should be allowed to dry before evaluation for suitability. Application
Pre-wet the surface and apply the cleaner with either acid brushes or low-pressure spray. Spray application should be done at pressures less that 40 p.s.i. to avoid driving the cleaner in to the surface where it can not be removed. Do not let the cleaner dry on the surface. If the cleaner begins to dry, rinse immediately and reapply if necessary. Reapplication should be avoided in that some slight color variation might occur. After 3 to 5 minutes, or after the stain disappears, remove the cleaner with pressure rinsing equipment. Avoid water blasting the surface in that deep-water penetration may cause the stain to reoccur. Always be aware of liquid drift during application and removal to avoid possible damage.
Limitations
2310 Vanadium Stain Remover is for use by professional contractors only. Do not use when temperatures are at or expected to fall below 40 degrees F for the next twenty-four hours. Temperatures below 50 degrees F, at the time of application, may adversely affect the efficiency of the cleaner or require longer dwell times. 2310 is generally safe for colored mortars. The check for possible changes in colored mortar should be discovered during the testing phase.
