2150 H.D. Carbon Crust Remover, 2151 "T" H. D. Carbon Crust Remover
Description 2150 H.D. Carbon Crust Remover is for use in the removal of heavy carbon buildup that has accumulated over many years of exposure to industrial and other pollutants. It may be required for cleaning the entire building facade or for removal of carbon buildup that is frequently found under eaves, windowsills and other building projections. 2150 H.D. Carbon Crust Remover can also be helpful in the detailing of water run streaks as a part of the overall building cleaning process especially when cleaning pre-cast or site cast concrete, limestone and concrete block structures. The most effective use for 2150 H.D. Carbon Crust Remover is as a part of a two-step cleaning process where 2150 is the first application that helps break down the heavy crust that most acid cleaning products cannot effectively remove. The application of 2150 is followed by a neutralization and final cleaning application of 2100 ProStore Restoration Cleaner, 2115 Hi-Clean or 2130 Limestone Neutralizer. Proper use of this system will result in a self-neutralizing cleaning project. Unlike most competitive systems, 2150 can be applied by low-pressure spray equipment that should result in a lower cost per square foot for labor expense. 2150 "T" H. D. Carbon Crust Remover 2150 "T" H. D. Carbon Crust Remover has all of the same characteristics as the regular 2150 but is thickened for brush or roller application to overhead and other surfaces where a longer dwell time is required.
Preparation
Provide protection for foliage, auto and pedestrian traffic, all painted and anodized surfaces. Test all other non-masonry surfaces for possible adverse reactions. Protect all surfaces and surrounding areas from possible damage which might occur from spillage or spray during usage.
All projects should start with a test application to determine the suitability of the cleaner, acceptable application method, dwell time and in some cases dilution ratio. When cleaning heavily soiled surfaces, the cleaner is most often used undiluted. Test areas of at least 10 square feet are recommended and should involve the most severely contaminated area. When possible, the test area should be left to age for 10 or more days to check for possible latent adverse reactions that might require a change in cleaner or cleaning system. Application
2150 H.D. Carbon Crust Remover may be applied by low-pressure spray or synthetic brush. Dwell times may vary from 15 to 60 minutes. Do not allow the cleaner to dry on the surface. If drying occurs, a light misting of the cleaner will return the cleaner to active status. Remove the cleaner and soiling with high-pressure water rinsing equipment. When using the two-step method of cleaning, apply the properly diluted neutralizer/cleaner to the rinsed area before the surface dries. If the surface has dried, a thorough wetting of the area will be required prior to applying the second step. Do not leave the 2150 cleaned
area un-neutralized to sit over night in any case.
Limitations
2150 H.D. Carbon Crust Remover is for use by professional contractors only. Do not use 2150 on black marble or allow contact with any polished masonry surface. Do not allow the cleaner to dry on any surface.
