SB2230 Shore Strip

SB 2230 Shore Strip is a fast acting paint stripper for use in the removal several layers of latex, oil based, enamel or spray paints from concrete, masonry or metal in a quick and efficient manner. At less than 6% VOC, the SB 2230 easily meets all Federal and OTC VOC standards for Paint Strippers and Graffiti Removers. It can also be used to remove sealers, waxes, lacquers and other coatings. SB 2230 works similar to the methylene chloride-based paint strippers without the harmful effects on people or the environment. two applications contact ShoreBest rep for other possible corrective action.

Preparation

Provide protection for pedestrians, vehicles, roofing and foliage. Test all other non-masonry surfaces for negative reactions and provide protection where required. Remove all loose materials from the surface prior to application. Protect all surrounding areas from possible damage due to spillage during application.

All projects should start with a test application to determine suitability of the material for the chosen project, method of application and dwell time. Not all paints can be removed by this product.

Dilution and Coverage

Dilution: Usually not diluted — test application recommended.

Coverage: 50 to 100 square feet per gallon — dependent upon surface texture

Application

Apply SB 2230 undiluted with solvent resistant brushes or rollers. Allow the remover to work for 15 minutes and remove with high pressure water. Brush agitation of the material may be helpful. Caution: do not allow the remover to dry on the surface. Reapplication will be required to correct for dried material. Neutralization of the surface, after removal, is not required. SB 2230 is not recommended for use indoors — vapors are irritating and very flammable. Adequate respiratory protection is mandatory and ventilation to prevent the buildup of flammable vapors is necessary. Do not smoke, use near fire or flame, or operate equipment that may produce electrically or mechanically induced sparks.

SB 2230 Shore Strip is for use by professional contractors only. Spray application is not recommended. Beware of drift during application and removal of the material. Extremely porous surfaces may require an additional application. Do not reapply until the surface is dry. Do not make the first application to a damp or wet surface. A wet or damp surface will result in either poor performance or a failure to perform situation. Do not allow vapors to enter the structure.
