SB 2405 Pro Guard PD (Pre-Diluted) is a ready to use water borne blend of stabilized siloxanes and silanes designed to provide protection from water intrusion on concrete, block, pavers, flagstone, terra cotta, sandstone and brick. SB 2405 is an excellent means for protecting masonry from the accumulation of water penetration leading to freeze/thaw damage, efflorescence, and dirt accumulation. Protection of this nature allows for a lengthening of substrate life. SB 2405 is formulated to penetrate deeply into the surface and bond physically and chemically to the substrate to provide extended service life. SB 2405 will remain breathable, is VOC compliant (less than 50 grams / liter), and also reduces staining associated with mold and mildew. This product is not for use on polished surfaces.
All surfaces must be clean and the subsurface and surface dry. Protect all foliage, windows, adjacent surfaces that are not to receive the treatment, vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Close off all ventilation and other means of entry into the structure. Using the method to be used on the project, apply an area of 10 square feet to determine the consumption rate.
Dilution: No dilution required — test application recommended.
Coverage: Dependent upon substrate and other conditions.
A spray application is preferred but roller and brush application may be acceptable for some projects. Apply with low pressure spray (20 psi) taking care not to atomize the fluid. For vertical surfaces, a flood coat is recommended where a run down of 6 to 10 inches is obtained below the application point. When used for very porous surfaces, two or more wet on wet application will give the best results. On dense surfaces only a single application is required. For horizontal surfaces, don’t apply so much product that it “ponds” on the surface. Excess material must be back-rolled, squeegeed or rinsed off to avoid darkening of the surface from product that does not soak into the surface. Clean all equipment with soap and water.
Do not apply when the surface and ambient temperature are below 40 degrees F or when rain is expected with 8 hours. Reseal the SB 2405 container after each use. Maximum storage of product is one year after purchase when protected from sunlight and stored at temperatures above freezing. Full water repellency is not reached until 72 hours after application. Do not recoat surfaces after they have dried. Take all precautions to avoid spillage resulting in discharge into waters and sewage intakes.
