SB2120 Limestone Prep

SB 2120 Limestone Prep is the first step in the two-step method of removing light to moderate atmospheric soiling from cut or split limestone surfaces. Unlike many other two-step systems, SB 2120 is a thin liquid that can be applied by low pressure spray. The unique blending of alkaline cleaners and additives makes this an efficient cleaner that penetrates the carbon crust to make for easy removal with pressure washing equipment. The second step is the application of SB 2130 Limestone Neutralizer as a final cleaner and neutralizer for any latent cleaning materials that might be remaining from step one.

Preparation

Provide protection for all painted, aluminum and anodized surfaces, foliage and pedestrian traffic. Test all other non-masonry surfaces for adverse reactions as described below. Protect all surfaces and surrounding areas from possible damage which might occur from spillage or spray during usage. All projects should start with a test application to determine the suitability of the cleaner, acceptable application method, dwell time and in some cases the dilution ratio. When cleaning heavy soiled surfaces, the cleaner is most often used undiluted. Test areas of at least 10 square feet are recommended and should involve the most severely contaminated area. When possible, the test area should be left to age for 10 or more days to check for possible adverse reactions. Do not use on polished limestone, marble or granite.

Dilution and Coverage

Dilution varies dependent on the surface, porosity of the surface and degree of soiling/stains, etc. Initial recommended dilution is 0 to 5 part water to 1 part product. Test application is highly recommended to determine dilution rate and appropriate dwell time. Optimum dwell time and dilution rate may change with weather conditions.

Coverage: Dependent upon substrate and other conditions.

Application

SB 2120 Limestone Prep may be applied by low-pressure spray, synthetic fiber brush or roller. Do not use sprayers with aluminum parts or natural bristle brushes. Brush application and agitation may prove helpful in some situations. Dwell times may vary from 5 to 60 minutes. Remove the cleaner and contaminant with a high-pressure water rinse. In all cases, a thorough rinsing and the use of SB 2130 Limestone Neutralizer is required.

SB 2120 Limestone Prep is for use by professional contractors only. Do not use SB 2120 on black marble. Do not allow the cleaner to dry on the surface. If the cleaner begins to dry, lightly mist the surface with clean water and allow the cleaner to continue working.
