SB 2335 Graffiti Resistant Coating is a water borne self cross-linking polymer, which forms a durable, film forming coating on most surfaces. SB 2335 will create an oleo phobic (oil repelling) shield against the pene- tration and adhesion of many graffiti materials to concrete, wood and non-polished masonry surfaces. The SB 2335 has been successful in providing an easy solution for the removal of non-catalyzed paints, spray paints, crayon, permanent markers, motor oils and some other forms of graffiti from porous masonry surfaces. While SB 2355 produces a matte or waxy film on the surface, it will still let moisture vapor go back/forth in response to environmental conditions. SB 2335 is not for use on horizontal surfaces subject to pedestrian traffic.
Provide protection for all non-masonry surfaces. Although SB 2335 is not based on sacrificial wax, it will alter the appearance to give a waxy look. Only a test application will determine if there will be any change that might not be acceptable. Allow the test area to dry before making a final determination regarding acceptance for your project.
Dilution: Product not diluted — test application recommended
Coverage: Approximately 100 to 200 square feet per gallon — dependent upon substrate and other conditions.
Apply undiluted SB 2335 to a clean dry surface by brush, spray or roller making sure that a thorough saturation of the surface is accomplished. On an average surface the application rate will be about 100 to 200 square feet per gallon. Make sure that during the initial application, sufficient material is applied to the surface. If a second application is necessary it must be applied while the first coat is still wet [wet on wet]. While the material dries to the touch in an about an hour, full cure and maximum solvent resistance requires 12 to 24 hours. A second application is not possible, once the product has dried, to make up for deficiencies due to the water repellent nature of the product.Do not allow SB 2335 to dry on the surface of equipment or any surface that is not to be treated. After the treatment is completed, immediately clean all equipment with water.During application, any surface that accidentally comes in contact with the treatment must immediately be cleaned with water and rags or other appropriate cleaning material.Apply SB 2335 to a clean dry surface only. Do not apply when surface and ambient temperatures are below 50 degrees F or above 90 degrees F and if rain is expected within 12 hours. Minimum temperatures must be maintained for at least 12 hours after application. This product was designed for adhesion to uncoated masonry, wood, and metal. SB 2335 may work over some decorative coatings but do to the wide variety of types of coatings it is up to the applicator/building owner to determine compatibility to existing coatings.
