SB2610 EIFS Acid Cleaner

SB 2610 EIFS Acid Cleaner is an alternative to SB 2600 EIFScrub for the removal of oxidized surface material and other contaminants that may not be removed by the SB 2600. If the EIFS has stains caused by acid rain or rundown from cementitious masonry or mortar above, then SB 2610 would be the preferred choice. SB 2610 should be considered as the preparation cleaner for the application of a new color coat or for the application of SB 2650 EIFS Protective Clear Coat. SB 2610 is a highly formulated detergent composition designed to emulsify oily soils in acidic conditions. A blend of inhibited acids helps in the removal of inorganic contaminants. Unlike typical masonry and restoration cleaners the emphasis is on the wetting and detergency aspects and not on a high acid content.

Preparation

Provide protection for all pedestrian and vehicle entrances and any air intake penings such as air conditioning or air circulation vents. Take precautions to avoid drift onto adjacent structures and vegetation. Conduct tests to determine the dilution ratio required for each project and conditions.

Dilution and Coverage

Dilution: 1 to 3 parts water to 1 part product — test application recommended.

Coverage: Dependent upon substrate and other conditions.

Application

Low-pressure spray application will work best in most applica- tions. Some agitation may be required on stubborn stains or deposits. Removal of the cleaner and contamination can be accomplished with pressure rinsing equipment or a garden hose. Care should be taken in the selection of water pressure and the want tip angle to avoid damage to the EIFS surface. Most manufacturers recommend 600 psi or less with a tip angle of 45 degrees held about a foot from the surface. Care must be exercised in the pressure cleaning to avoid damage to the EIFS surface.

SB 2610 is for use by professional contractors only. Projects should not be undertaken when temperatures are below 40 degrees F. Do not allow the cleaner to dry on the surface. Pressure rinsing equipment equipped with laser or other pres- sure increasing nozzles are not to be used with this cleaner. NOTE: ShoreBest EIFS products are intended for use on EIFS applications over masonry backup only. Applications to EIFS applied over wood or metal studs are at the contractors own risk.
