Preparation
SB 2383 CSR Poultice Additive should be mixed into the wet SB 2381 / SB 2382 paste with simple mixing. It is not necessary for the powder to visibly dissolve in the paste. Most of the SB2383 will dissolve over time to give a slow release of the active materials to the poultice. Standard plasterers tools and mixing devices are customary for the preparation of the product and application to the surface. Protect all surfaces that are not to receive an application of SB 2383 containing poultice. Apply a test sample to the project surface to determine the suitability of the cleaner, acceptable application method, thickness and required dwell time to effect the desired cleaning.
Dilution and Coverage
Dilution: N/A as product is mixed with SB 2381 and SB 2382 when required — test application recommended
Coverage: Dependent upon substrate and other conditions
Application
Using a broad knife, trowel or other application method, apply a uniform layer of combined poultice to a thickness of 3/8 to 1/2 inch of product. Application method should ensure that there are no voids that will cause stains to remain in the surface. Before the poultice dries, cover the surface with a lightweight plastic sheet. Avoid air pockets when applying the plastic sheet. Air pockets may allow the poultice to dry prematurely. Allow the poultice to remain on the surface for 12 to 48 hours as determined by previous testing. If the poultice is very damp after removal of the plastic sheeting, allow the poultice to dry for several hours prior to removal. Remove the poultice with plastic or wood scrappers, taking care to avoid marring the surface.
Remove as much poultice as possible and rinse with wet sponges, toweling or soft brushes. All poultice residues must be removed to avoid a white film appearing on the surface. Allow the surface to dry and repeat the application where necessary.
SB 2383 CSR Poultice Additive is for use by professional contractors only. Keep out of the reach of children. Appli- cation to surfaces that are below 50 degrees F may not react as expected. Usage at temperatures below 70 degrees F may require extended dwell times.
