For ground absorption, apply a liberal coating of SB 2510 to the area where rinse water will come in contact with the soil. The drop area is generally two to three feet from the base of the structure. For drains and hard surface paving, construct a mounded catch barrier two to three inches in height of SB 2510. All of the effluent requiring neutralization is to pass through this barrier in order to effect neutralization. From time to time, pH paper is to be soaked in the rinse solution after it has passed through the barrier. Compare the color change to the color guide and change the barrier when the pH reading of 8 or higher has occurred. After several readings, a timing factor can be determined as to how often the pH reading might be required. Once the pH exceeds 8, remove and replace the spent material. Dispose of the spent material according to local, state and federal requirements. This product can also be used to raise the pH of rinse water collected in a tank.
