SB2840 18% Solids Acrylic Floor Finish

SB 2840 18% Solids Acrylic Floor Finish is designed for use on both hard and resilient (vinyl) indoor floor surfaces. It produces a high gloss, colorless film that is durable and resists scuffing and heel marks. It responds well to buffing and burnishing to maintain gloss. Even with this resistance and tough finish, it is easily unlocked and removed using an ammoniated stripper like SB 2846.

Preparation

Thoroughly scrub floor using a quality stripper like SB 2846 (and neutralizer like SB 2130 if necessary) to remove the previous finish. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before application of the SB 2840.

Dilution and Coverage

Dilution: 0 to 2 parts water to 1 part product — test application recommended.

Coverage: 600 to 1,000 square feet per gallon — dependent upon substrate and other conditions. Dry time is approximately 30 minutes.

Application

Apply SB 2840 with a lamb’s wool or microfiber pad (wax) applicator. It is very important to apply in thin even coats for best appearance. Coverage should be in the range of 600 to 1000 sq ft per gallon per coat. It will spread evenly and dry to a beautiful gloss that will last for several buffings. For the first application, 2 coats are recommended. This finish is keyed to ammonia removal. Do not use ammonia containing cleaners for general maintenance. Use SB 2180 or another quality neutral cleaner for routine maintenance cleaning. The floor shine can be maintained, if necessary, between scheduled strippings by applying a thin coat of a solution of 1 part SB 2840 to 2 parts water.

This product is not designed for outdoor use or for floors that are subject to extended period of wetness. Contact your ShoreBest representative for the appropriate recommendation. For resilient floors subjected to very heavy wear consideration should be given to using SB 2850 Floor Seal as a durable, non strippable base layer and applying SB 2840 as the top, wear surface.

Keep material from freezing.
